Indies

Indie comics are independent comics created by folks outside of the Big Two — Marvel and DC. They are typically distinguished by being outside of DC and Marvel, and usually tell a unique type of story not found in the two main publishers. Indie comics are funded by creators, and are used to tell a story or begin a career. Unlike the Big Two, indie comics tend to eschew the family-friendly material and focus on mature stories that should be kept out of the hands of kids.
